The I-Search Paper

1. Your I-search paper will tell the story of your research.
2. You will do an analytic biography of your writer.
3. You will read one short work by this writer and analyze it, as well as read criticism of it if you can find it. If your writer is primarily a novelist, then pick a chapter or a long excerpt to analyze.
4. You must locate 6 sources. ONLY TWO SOURCES CAN BE FROM PAGES ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB . TWO SOURCES MAY ALSO BE FROM THE ON-LINE DATA BASES MAINTAINED BY THE LIBRARY. THE FINAL TWO MUST BE FROM PRINTED SOURCES, LOCATED, FOR THE MOST PART IN THE 800 AND 900 SECTIONS OF THE REFERENCE PART OF THE LIBRARY..
5. An I-Search Paper is narrative in structure, that is, you tell the story of your research. I will provide you with a model.
6. Your paper must be 3-4 typewritten pages with a bibliography at the end.
7. Use parenthetical citations for any quotations you make from secondary sources. Cnsult the Manuscript Conventions section of your student yearly planner. Be sure to use correct bibliographic form.
